The Sun Center of Excellence in Software Technology for Eco-Social Sustainable Development – EcoSoc is part of the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute for Production Technology at the University of Southern Denmark. The general domain of expertise and innovation of EcoSoc is the development of software solutions for facilitating eco-social sustainable development within a board range of application domains. Development projects are always application driven and conducted in close collaboration with industry and end users.
EcoSoc was founded in 2006 and builds upon the experience and expertise of the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute for Production Technology in Software Engineering, Adaptronics, Robotics and Mechatronics. At EcoSoc we are currently involved in a wide range of projects, in which we conduct research in software technology for supporting eco-social sustainable development. Within these projects software technology is used to optimize the utilization of natural resources, reduce the environmental impact of human related activities and improving the working and living environment of living beings, all for the benefit of present and future generations.
Danish pronunciation training
Go to topThe aim of this project is to develop a pronunciation training application to improve the language skills of immigrants. The project is financed by The Ministry of Refugee, Immigration and Integration Affairs with a budget of 1.140.625 DDK. This is the project I have been working on at Ecosoc since may 2006, which concerns an application based on speech interaction and pedagogy. The program is targeted to foreigners in Denmark, who should learn and train Danish pronunciation. The program recognizes how well the user speaks Danish and gives feedback to the user in form of video. I (Henrik Moeller-Madsen) and my colleague Lars Ottesen Henriksen have made and are head responsible for the following:

Langtved Data A/S provides the health sector with IT-solutions specially adapted to the Danish hospitals. They provide specific systems that are fully Board of Health compliant and tailored to meet local needs. Customer satisfaction is central to their business, and they achieve this by being highly receptive to customer requirements and feed back.
Langtved data produce and develop IT solutions for quality assurance and research. Among other things, they have implemented a large number of clinical databases with national or local coverage. The Danish business daily Boersen elected Langtved Data as a Gazelle Company in 2004 and 2005.
Quality Assurance
I worked as an system administrator/programmer at Langtved data from february 2005 to april 2006. Langtved Data is a small company and I quickly got a lot of responsibility. My job was primary to set up and maintain Windows Servers and Windows Client machines, installing software and to backup the company software. But along the way I got more responsibility and more work; among other things I was responsibel for setting up the local area network at a customer, including replacing old servers, setting up new clients, installing OS and application software, setting up the server backup system, and secure data transfer from the old system to the new system. Langtved data gave me the head responsibility of assuring that they succesfully became a Microsoft Certified Partner, which they did in 2005.
